John Meigs (1916-2003) "The Fence Rider" 30" x 36.5" Egg Tempra on panel. Signed lower right, John Meigs. Painted in 1957. Exhibited at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center in Oklahoma City,OK. Meigs was longtime friends- painted with Peter Hurd and Andrew Wyeth. Miegs quote, "My object is to record the West through its people,its buildings,its landscape and to preserve as artists have done for centuries, some small of 'how it is in your own time."
