“Sand of honey” (120 X 100cm) is a deeply textured, heartfelt, painted poem to the kind of early evening light common to the coast. Rich blue with silvery strips and highlights, the piece speaks of the transition from warmth to coolness, from activity to stillness. Julian has used blues tinged with earth colours to achieve this very special moment in oil paint.
