“Quicksilver” (120 X 100cm). The palette knife in quick and curving sweeps has here discharged its thick paint in streaks echoing the low sun as it skims along the sand and spills over the side of the resting boat. Speed was necessary here. The energy with which this painting was worked has imparted life and oxygen to the canvas. There is a fresh tang to the air from the brisk paintwork.
