Description
“Resting boat” (90 X 90cm). This gentle scene has, nevertheless, a piercing quality of light – almost making the viewer want to close their eyes, the brilliant low sun, flying off everything - boat, sand, clouds. The painting shows a glorious tranquil effect of light down on a harbour beach; so bright yet quiet and lulling. The paint has been layered largely with the palette knife in glancing strokes to give an ethereal sense to the work.
