Description
“The bottlebrush tree” (120 X 100cm). These trees with their ruby and scarlet blooms are often grown to compliment houses in town and city. Here, a simple scene noticed along a street in San Francisco is given breezy rendering on canvas. The mixture of thick-layered oils and solvent washes lends a kind of hot haze to the piece. A drowsy summer afternoon in the resplendent city.
