“Danse Macabre,” Oil and Acrylic on Canvas by Kathi Robinson Frank
-
Description
“Danse Macabre,” 2014 by artist Kathi Robinson Frank is from her latest series of large 72 in. x 56 in. canvases incorporating oil, acrylic, charcoal pastel and in some instances fabric and feathers. Each painting is finished with the canvas stretched around the four sides. Graphic interconnecting lines suggest wires or strands symbolizing communication and the human struggle to stay connected. The painting is signed and dated on the verso.
New York City born, Kathi Robinson Frank began painting at an early age. While in high school, she studied at The Art Students League and pursued her passion at Bard College where she graduated with a BA. Her early influences were Helen Frankenthaler, Robert Rauschenberg and Larry Rivers. -
