Description
This triptych is a striking 3-meter section drawn from a monumental 10-meter work on paper by the Paris-based Argentine artist Martin Reyna.
Originally conceived in the Bois de Boulogne as a single, continuous “river of colour” for the 2023 exhibition Fluides at Galerie Bessières, the original work is one of Reyna’s most ambitious spatial experiments to date.
Presented as a vast 150 x 10 m paper scroll, Fluides was suspended in dialogue with the gallery’s distinctive light and architecture. This triptych, measuring 150 x 300 cm in total, was selected from that 10-meter fresco for the strength of its composition and visual depth.
By dividing this section into three balanced 150 x 100 cm panels, the artist has transformed a fleeting installation into a permanent, structured triptych while preserving the panoramic energy and immersive rhythm of the original work.
For Reyna, paper is a living landscape. In this 3-meter extract, his signature “dilution” technique is fully revealed. Pigments bleed across the paper in deep cerulean, forest green, and vibrant yellow, creating an atmospheric field that feels at once like a topographical map and a dreamscape. -
