Max Mansell is an Aboriginal Australian artist.
You can see a glimpse into the artist’s mind on the verso of this painting where he wrote; “The Land has dried up and the people can’t travel to the water hole or from camp to camp. The black serpent which was laying underneath the land has come to drink the water and return to the land and release the water through his skin”. This painting is signed and dated verso. -
