Description
By Hans Jacob Maurer, signed and dated J.B Maurer, 1780. Stylistically, this painting is reminiscent of the plein air and fete champetre movements of the French, 18th century court painters, Boucher, Fragonard, Watteau and Robert.
Provenance; Von Weckherlin Castle, originally a set of four, Utrecht, Netherlands. Removed and sold at Muller Auction House, Amsterdam Nov 26, 1912. In 1960 Mrs Bruna Graff acquired three for her residence in Dallas. Orion Gallery, Dallas. Frame add 10 inches to each measurement. -
