Original oil on board little gem of a small painting attributed to the hand of Norwood Hodge MacGilvery. Unsigned. Attributed verso by The Gallery at Juniper Hill. Condition is excellent. Circa 1930. The painting is housed in a hand carved wood frame with a light brown wash. Overall framed measurements are 12.5 by 14 inches. Provenance: The Gallery at Juniper Hill, 16 Elm Street, Trumansburg, New York.

Norwood Hodge MacGilvery (American 1874-1950)
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Norwood MacGilvary received artistic training in the Bay area of northern California at Berkeley and the Mark Hopkins Institute. He exhibited at the Paris salon, Art Institute of Chicago, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Carnegie Institute, where he also held a teaching position from 1921-43.
