Description
The work is in excellent condition and meticulously rendered in a photo-realistic style. It showcases the artist's high-level sense of design. Newsweek could hire any artist in the world. The fact that Robert Engle was chosen to do their prized cover was a testament to Engle's talent. It depicts a portrait of the not-so-friendly looking communist official, framed by the ramparts of the Kremlin. A bold-looking Soviet Union's Red Star looms above and makes a graphic statement about Cold War tensions. The subject is Anastas Ivanovich Mikoyan, a Soviet politician and Bolshevik revolutionary who served as the chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet and the head of state of the Soviet Union. Matted but Unframed
