Description
"Efflorescence" in "A Clearing for Silence" collection is an original encaustic painting by San Diego Artist Shima Shanti. Layers of purified beeswax mixed with all-natural earth pigments are painted on Russian Baltic birch panel then fused with the flame of a torch creating patina and texture that is storied, translucent, and luminous. Shima's minimal aesthetic and earth-tone palette is neutral, deep and rich. In this simplicity unexpected levels of complexity surface. Beeswax is one of nature's best preservatives impervious to moisture, decay and UV LIght.
