Provenance: Found in Western New York State Although little is known about William Hoyt, he was an accomplished still-life painter. A few examples of these imposing fruit still-lifes with reticulated white compotes have appeared on the market over the years. Having lived only to the age of 47, Hoyt’s work is quite scarce. This still life captures the best of his ability as a painter.
