Pair of oil on canvas paintings of greyhounds on a landscape of green shrubbery, bare hills with clouds, blue sky and water in the background. Signed on both paintings in the lower right hand corner. The frames are figured maple.
William Skilling (1862-1964)
A California artist known for portrait and landscape painting, he served in World War I and then settled in San Francisco where he died on April 8, 1964. He also did copies of work by artists including Edward Hicks, Parson Fisher and Giuseppe Arcimboldo. -
