Description
Abstract photograph of the ECLAT series by Eloi Ficat, French photographer and videographer. A journey into a space where light and matter harmonize to give birth to amazing photographs.
Edition of 8 signed and numbered prints
Inspiration:
The ECLAT series was born from the photographer’s desire to explore the material in an unknown representation. These images are made in proxy-photography (less close than the macro) in long exposure. All the luminous fluxes, sparks, sparkles, reflections are produced thanks to a work between the movement of water and light without retouching, just development. The shots are taken in the studio in an aquarium. Eloi Ficat feels much more attracted to pictorial photography, a photograph that could be a painting.
“Of water, air and light, my photographs challenge by their metaphysical dimension evoking both the infinitely large and the infinitely small. The abstraction generated in the lens under the artist’s eye are all doors ajar on fascinating and unknown universes.”
