Chrysler Building, Jewel - Like Art Deco Gold Crown
-
Description
The metallic crown of the Chrysler Building reflects the golden light of sunset, giving it a jewel-like appearance. It's as if an elegant woman could wear it on her wrist. Horizontal bands of clouds complement the curvilinear forms of the crown, making this a perfect visual statement.
The image is part of a new epic exhibition, Mitchell Funk Photographs The Chrysler Building for 50 Years. In the lower right corner, between the silhouetted Empire State Building and the tower of the Brooklyn Bridge, you will see the shape of the Chrysler Building's crown and spire.
