Original Chinese propaganda posters, printed by State Printing House No. 5 in Beijing.
Recently framed with a black molding.

These posters highlight a variety of themes: rural life, steel production, the friendship between Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, and Mao Zedong, insect and rat extermination, support for the civil rights movement of Black Americans, dedication to work, reading the Little Red Book, glorification of Mao Zedong’s thought, and… They often feature stereotypical depictions: a poster showing Chinese soldiers crushing a greenish American soldier with hooked fingers and a hooked nose under a giant foot; a massive fist crushing American leaders; and so on…
A codified and limited visual language is deliberately used to make an impact on the viewer.
