Description
A colorful lithography of several masks by the artist Karel Appel (1921-2006) .
Appel was a well know artist from the Netherlands and was one of the founders of the avant-garde movement Cobra in 1948. His work was influenced by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Jean Dubuffet. Appel’s work has been exhibited in a number of galleries, including the Anita Shapolsky Gallery in New York City, Galerie Lelong in Paris and Gallery LL in Amsterdam. He used figurative abstractions in combination with expressive colors and forms. - More Information
