Pierre-Auguste Renoir Aquatint on Arches Paper Titled "Femme Nue" with C.O.A.

Offered for sale is a Pierre-Auguste Renoir aquatint on Arches vellum paper. The engraving measures 12 1/2" H and 9 1/2" W.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841–1919) produced several, often confused, works titled "Femme Nue" (Nude Woman) on soft-ground etchings, drypoints, and lithographs in the early 20th century, commonly printed on cream laid or wove Arches paper.
This was most likely published by Ambroise Vollard, in 1919. The piece includes a Certificate of Authenticity as shown on the back of the frame.

The print is presented in an antique giltwood frame consistent with the period. It has been floated with raw edges against a black background. That board has been matted with a gilt-edged mat. The frame shows some loss of the gilt as shown.

This print is offered at a considerable discount to current pricing, as the paper shows marks from the previous use of tape. The image size can be re-matted with a mat that would cover those marks, or they could be restored by a conservator at the buyer's discretion.
