Offered for sale is a 1960s mid-century cubist oil painting on board by the French artist André Poirson. The painting is quite stylized with several abstract female figures painted with heavy impasto texture techniques.
The painting retains the original frame and is signed André Poirson in the lower left.

André Poirson (1920 - 2003) was born in Moriville, in the Vosges department, in 1920. His profession took him, after the Vosges, to Provence and then to Morzine, until his retirement in Saint-Jorioz, on the shores of Lake Annecy. A self-taught painter and sculptor, he exhibited throughout France and took part in international salons. He received various medals and honorary diplomas. His works are exhibited in Europe and the United States. This painting is representative of his painted works. He was also known for creating religious sculptures for churches.
