Description
The Eye has in Metis two values presented in a simple and combined manner. In “10.000 Manifestations,” the symbolic of the Eye is a spiritual one that perceives the UNIVERSE and opens the horizons of the soul. It is a visionary, clear, conscious and focused Eye. It represents the Eye of the African, Asian and European Traveler with a strong spirit of observation that seeks to attain the qualities of tolerant, good and special man. In this collection, the Eye is presented in a conglomeration of metis human faces and gains the symbolism that each of us gives us according to their own experiences and beliefs. Let’s not forget that we are surrounded by symbols and an ocean of symbols lies in us and those with imagination are invited to interpret the course of intuition.
Zhu’s artworks are meant to take the viewer towards a meditation on the relations between people, a celebration of the dialogue between different cultures and civilizations around the world.
His work is attempting to defy new or old mishaps and prejudices, they bear the mark of friendship and tolerance, promote understanding and partnership between people.
“Metis” is a symbol, a meditation of relationships between different people without prejudices. The subject being complex and sensitive, my intention is to emphasize the symbolism of the theme and not to give answers. The works highlight the spirituality and civilization of the unspoken word of vision and imagination.
