Natacha Rambova imaginatively conceives and sketches a costume for Cecil B. DeMille's 1921 movie Fool's Paradise: Paramount. Rendered in Gouache, watercolor, pencil, and metallic silver and bronze on paper. Forbidden Fruit "Royal in Cape", signed by the artist, measuring 9.75" x 13.5". Rambova, a muse and one-time wife of Rudolph Valentino, collaborated extensively with DeMille, creating both costume and set designs for some of his early silent films.
Signed in pencil lower right, Condition: Good - exhibits production wear, toning, staining, minor pin holes, and paint wear, considering the painting was a production piece that was viewed and physically handled by many in the movie making process. It is still in good condition despite
