Description
This is a very good example of an R.J. Horner & Co. Aesthetic Movement Faux Bamboo bed. The bed is beautifully designed utilizing various type of maple--birds-eye maple, curly maple, tiger maple and plain maple. These finely grained maples are very desirable--an added element of quality is the use of solid (as opposed to veneer) curly and tiger maple; the design is achieved through the application of birds-eye maple over the solid curly and tiger maple. The faux bamboo spindles are finely crafted as are the elaborately turned finials. The bed appears tp retain all of its original elements, it has an old, if not original, surface. A previous owner added compressed bun feet to the side posts, which can easily be removed, returning the bed to its original state.
