An Exquisite Quality French Ormolu-Mounted Vitrine Commode Cabinet, C. 1880, attributed to Paul Sormani.
A very elegant vitrine / commode cabinet with exquisite jewel-quality ormolu mounts throughout with an onyx top, in the taste and style of Paul Sormani.
Paul Sormani (1817 – 1877) was a preeminent 19th Century Italian cabinetmaker (ébéniste) of Lombard-Venetian origin.
With original ormolu key and one glass shelf.
42" high x 50" wide x 16" deep
Very good condition overall. No damages noted, normal wear consistent with age and use. Minor dirt buildup to some of the ormolu bronze mounts. -
