Description
Minimalist teak wall unit Cees Braakman, Japanese series for Pastoe, the Netherlands, 1950s. Unique tall wall unit from the famous Japanese series designed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe UMS, the Netherlands, 1958. The wall unit is made out of teak wood and has a Minimalist feel. There are several shelves that you can move/customize to your liking. Cees Braakman trained at Pastoe (UMS), where he worked through all the departments. From 1949 until 1968, he designed most of the Pastoe models, which were usually part of a complete series of furniture and cabinets. During the 1950s, Braakman was sent to America to study production processes and visited Herman Miller where he was inspired by the work of Charles and Ray Eames. He was among the first in the Netherlands to apply the new high-frequency pressing technique to make plywood.
