Description
The Tapered Sideboard is made to order, with many handmade details - pictured here in solid walnut. The legs gradually taper upwards, giving the piece a distinctive stance and creating an inward tilt for the inset, solid side panels. The legs are joined to the front lower rail with haunched, mortise and tenon joinery (see detail image). The drawers are hand- dovetailed and all solid walnut. The vertical grain doors are joined to the top, horizontal rail with pegged tenons to ensure the doors flatness. The doors swing on stainless knife hinges and, like the drawers, have hand carved pulls. There are solid adjustable shelves behind each of the two doors. All is finished with a hand-rubbed oil, or the finish of your choice. Please contact me to discuss details.
