Description
Edmond Spence two piece drop front desk with a matched bookcase manufactured in Mexico by Industria Meublera S.A. in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
An interesting blend of design influences from Charlotte Perriand and the Bauhaus to French art deco finished in a black espresso stained mahogany.
The desk is accented with Pepe Mendoza hand crafted ceramic and brass pulls.
The bookcase is faced with inset raised sliding panels rests on the desk and could be placed as a side cabinet.
There are several Industria Meublera brands and a order stencil for a Model No. 32 on the back (see image no. 10) .
The desk is in excellent condition. -
