Description
Very fine, original Empire or early Biedermeier Commode with three drawers in walnut veneer with caryatids, from Austria, Vienna about 1815.
Book-matched walnut veneered on softwood. Exceptional carved caryatid pilasters columns depicting temple guards (?) with hoods, raised and gilded in older restoration.
Restored condition, shellac hand-polished, french polished surface.
