French 19th Century Massive Solid Walnut Armoire
-
Description
A massive solid walnut armoire from France, crafted during the 1840s. A chapeau de la champ cornice tops the armoire, heighting it to over 9 feet tall. The shapely paneled doors feature simple geometric carvings and hang on impressive steel barrel hinges that run the length of the doors. Impressive iron escutcheons are fixed to both doors. The lock is functioning and includes one key. The interior houses 4 shelves, one being the top of a pair of drawers. The shelves are finished with a carved edge and are adjustable- they measure 16-¾” deep. The whole is raised on turned front feet. Make sure to view the detailed images for a closer look.
