Description
England UK c. 1780
Extremely Rare Pair of George 111 Period Freestanding Mahogany Chests - Pembroke Tables of Generous Country House Proportions. The rounded rectangular drop leaf flaps each above an arrangement of six real and six opposing dummy drawers with locks stamped " Bramah " on tapered square legs with original brass castors.
A most unusual formation of table - certainly a one off item made to specific order typical of Gillows Lancaster clients requests.
Excellent varied mahogany veneers and crossbandings. Perfect for use as Large End Tables.

Condition: Excellent country house state ... importantly retaining all original heavyweight laquered swan neck handles. Well figured veneers with original crossbandings. The single Bramah signed locks denoting the most earliest signed by this most eminent of manufacturers. -
