English, 19th Century
Height 96cm, width 74cm, depth 50cm
These superb corner cabinets are crafted from lustrous wood, gilt bronze, and marble. The cabinets feature shaped white marble tops, which are set above entablatures finished with gilt bronze mounts. The curved door of each cabinet features a blind gilt bronze frame and is flanked by a pair of wooden columns with gilt bronze capitals and bases. Each cabinet sits atop a shaped apron. The cabinets, superb demonstrations of the Neoclassical style, have exceptional provenance, as attested to by the stamp to the reverse of each indicating that they were included in an inventory of Windsor Castle carried out in 1866. - More Information
