Description
Original 1934 Art Deco bookcase/shelving unit designed by Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller. Part of the East Indial Laurel Wood series, this shelving unit represents some of the best of Gilbert Rohde’s cabinet designs. The beautifully planned veneer patterns showcase the variants in the East Indian Laurel wood. Rohde has taken what was once a simple box and transformed it into a beautiful piece of furniture. This piece has been refinished in hand polished lacquer. This unit can be used as a stand alone piece or in combination with other cabinets and shelving from the series to create a wall unit. We have a matching secretary unit available also.
