Description
Signed Isaac & Ellis Chandlee, Nottingham, Maryland.
The Case Attributed to the Shop of Jacob Brown, Circa 1795.
This clock represents the third generation of clock makers from this family working in Nottingham. Ellis and Isaac worked together from approximately 1792 to 1804.
Nottingham was originally situated in Chester County, Pennsylvania, With the ratification of the Mason Dixon Line in 1769 it became a part of Cecil County, Maryland
This clock descended directly in the Breckinridge Family to Mrs. (Breckinridge) Field, and then to her son-in-law. -
