Striking Italian Giogali chandelier attributed to Angelo Mangiarotti for Vistosi, crafted in clear Murano glass and chrome-plated metal, Circa 1970.

Originally designed by Angelo Mangiarotti in 1967, the iconic Giogali lighting system is based on a single hand-formed glass element: a sculptural hook that can be interconnected and arranged in multiple configurations.

This example features numerous transparent Murano glass hooks densely arranged around a circular chromed metal structure, creating a voluminous, almost spherical composition. The individual glass elements overlap and intertwine around the internal light sources, producing a rich interplay of transparency, reflections and refractions when illuminated.

The modular construction gives the chandelier its distinctive organic appearance while reflecting Mangiarotti's innovative approach to material, structure and repetition. The clear glass contrasts elegantly with the polished metal suspension, emphasizing the sculptural quality of the piece.
