Vintage Scandinavian (Danish) Mid-Century Modern floor lamp by Arne Jacobsen for Louis Poulsen. This piece was originally designed by Jacobsen for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen circa 1970 and has become a classic of modern design.
The piece is composed of black enameled steel and has its original European black braided silk cord and floor switch. The overall condition is very good. It uses 1 E 26 bulb at 60 watts.
This modern classic features an asymmetrical shape and tilt-able head. The AJ floor lamp emits downward directed light. The angle of shade can be adjusted to optimize light distribution. The shade is painted in white on the inside to ensure a soft, comfortable light. The AJ floor lamp feature a die cast zinc base with a spun steel shade and steel base, in-line on/off foot switch. -
