Description
This refined and sculptural Art Deco Machine Age floor lamp was realized in the United States, circa 1930. It features a square base with geometric detailing at each corner that ascends into a skyscraper style embellishment consisting of tiered concentric circular forms- all realized in aluminum. A conical form sits above the skyscraper style base flanked on both sides by graphic peaked embellishments. A hexagonal rod inscribed with a wealth of striations and zig zag forms ascends from the base culminating in sculptural cubist neck, full of triangular forms, that traverses from the body at a bias. The lamp is fitted with a custom silk pagoda shade with black fabric circumscribing each edge of the shade. With its iconically Art Deco forms and beautiful construction, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of the period as well as those with a penchant for exquisite objects. Its monochromatic palate and clean modernist lines make this piece as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of interior from Classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly rewired and is in excellent vintage condition. The piece comes fitted with the custom shade pictured.
American, circa 1930
