Description
An exquisite Art Deco Machine Age cylindrical floor lamp, crafted from three Vitrolite glass rods and bronze fittings and scroll form base, originates from France, circa 1935. This extraordinary piece embodies the streamlined elegance and industrial influence of the Machine Age, while retaining the luxurious flair characteristic of French Art Deco design.
The lamp features a sleek cylindrical Vitrolite glass body composed of three rods, prized for its smooth finish and timeless sophistication. The deep and sumptuous Vitrolite column is anchored by a meticulously crafted bronze base, with refined scroll-form detailing that merges geometric strength with subtle decorative curves. The juxtaposition of the glossy glass and rich bronze pays homage to the modernist materials and craftsmanship of the era. Fitted with a custom gallery shade.
Standing tall with a commanding presence, this floor lamp beautifully diffuses light, creating a soft, ambient glow that complements any space. Its Machine Age aesthetic, with clean lines and industrial influences, is perfectly balanced by the sculptural artistry of its scroll-form base.
Newly rewired to American Standards, this floor lamp accommodates two edison base bulbs achieving up to 200 watts. In Excellent Vintage Condition, this floor lamp is a rare and significant statement piece, ideal for bringing the glamour and innovation of 1930s French Art Deco design into contemporary interiors.
