Art Deco Two-Tier Chandelier in Rose & Clear Frosted Glass by Petitot

This elegant Art Deco Machine Age Chandelier was realized in France, circa 1935 by the legendary atelier Petitot. It features two rectangular tiers of stacked rectangular glass- the upper panel is in clear and the lower is in a sumptuous rose hue. The panels have frosted rectangular centers and translucent borders. They are speared through the center by a nickeled volumetric rectangular rod that concludes in a sculptural pyramidal base. The rose glass shade is capped at its nadir with a skyscraper style nickeled finial with a stacked rectilinear layers and spherical embellishment at its base. With its iconically Art Deco sensiblity, made by one of the great ateliers of the period, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate 1930s design, as well as those with a penchant for all things exquisite. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. It is signed Petitot.
