Description
This elegant Arts and Crafts table lamp by Bradley & Hubbard is a distinguished example of the craftsmanship and design innovation that defined the American Arts and Crafts movement. Dating to circa 1910, the lamp exemplifies the harmonious balance of function, artistry, and material integrity that Bradley & Hubbard was renowned for producing.
The lamp features a beautifully crafted scenic slag glass paneled shade, radiating warmth and glowing hues when illuminated. The panels depict an intricate landscape scene of pine trees rising alongside a verdant landscape with mountains in the background. Delicately rendered in rich, variegated tones that evoke the natural beauty characteristic of the Arts and Crafts style.
The shade is complemented with finely detailed bronze fittings, including a sturdy base and intricate framing for the slag glass panels. The craftsmanship of the fittings underscores Bradley & Hubbard’s commitment to producing pieces of enduring quality and artistry. The sculptural base features a stunningly designed motif of evergreen pine needles, expanding within a celtic style woven linear knot that encircles and grounds the naturalist motif.
This American table lamp is both functional and decorative, serving as a remarkable centerpiece in any space. Whether accenting an Arts and Crafts interior or adding a touch of vintage charm to a contemporary setting, this lamp is a collector-worthy piece that speaks to the enduring design principles of the early 20th century. Newly rewired to American Standards, this lamp accommodates one edison base bulb achieving up to 100 watts of light. Signed "B H" on the inner framework of the base. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
