Description
A rare and original green and yellow glass poliedri (polyhedron) chandelier designed by the Italian architect and designer, Carlo Scarpa, c.1960. Produced by the prestigious Murano glass company, Venini, the x 228 hand-made glass poliedri pieces suspend from the white-painted metal frame within. Each of these glass pieces have a unique colour with a slight iridescent lustre to the surface of the glass - this glass making technique is most unusual and has become one of Venini’s most important designs in their catalogue of works. This spectacular ceiling light can be installed to sit flush to the ceiling, or alternatively, suspended from a steel wire to hang at a lower height. Signed in the frame, 'Venini / Murano'.
