Description
WCS2106 is a one-of-a-kind work of art and functional sconce made from cast bronze, Argentine goatskin and LED by artist and designer William C Stuart, founder of Costantini Design.
Measurements are 12" W x 3" D x 30" H.
This piece is a continuation of the artist's series of cast plaster objects entitled "Things that Exist in Time and Space" from 2019-present in which the artist investigates themes of permanence, mortality, healing and ephemera. While the plaster pieces are definitively fragile, this new work combines a comparatively heavy, almost bulletproof bronze shell, complemented by translucent goatskin, delicately sealed on its reverse side with resin. The piece can be hung in either direction or ordered as a pair to be hung in opposite manners.
This is the first of a series of 6 pieces to date, none of which are the same.
