Description
Christopher Poehlmann, Modern Sculptural Branch Chandelier, Mirrored Glass, 21st C.
This signed and dated sculptural chandelier by Christopher Poehlmann features antiqued bronze aluminum and mirrored glass. Available exclusively through our gallery, it can be viewed now with made-to-order customization and quick lead times.
This chandelier is an atypical member of Christopher Poehlmann's well known newGROWTH series of made-to-order sculptural light fixtures. The CP Lighting catalog shows many different configurations, though this asymmetric curvy version is unique within the series. Most of the newGROWTH fixtures are built on commission to client's specifications, the expressive design of this fixture was conceived by the artist as a unique object without any client input. Poehlmann often likes to design and build fixtures like this one to push his boundaries and move his work forward. The organic design and fluid curves of the aluminum branches make this asymmetric chandelier a very unique item indeed. Poehlmann uses 3" diameter glass globes which he has silvered to cover the E12 candle base sockets. The glass is mirrored when off and has an ethereal earth tone glow when the lights are on to compliment the antique bronze patina that has been applied to the aluminum fixture.
