Danish Mid-Century Uplight Floor Lamp in Brass, Denmark 1940s
-
Description
This beautiful mid-century floor lamp combines a classical shape with carefully thought out proportions and Danish craftsmanship.
The head of this lamp resembles the shape of a bell turned upside down, with a Gaussian curve. The brass has a beautiful, patinated golden colour that stands out even more when the lamp is lit. In line with the Functionalist trend of the time, the designer abandoned ornamentation in favour of form. Nonetheless, the warmth and beauty inherent in Danish design is maintained, as well as high-quality craftsmanship. The stem is adjustable, making this lamp multifunctional.
Adopting the Functionalist trend of abandoning ornamentation in favour of form, he nonetheless maintained the warmth and beauty inherent in traditional Danish cabinet making, as well as high-quality craftsmanship and materials. ~H. -
