Description
Italian designers and manufacturers were true pioneers of mid-century lighting design, creating never-before-seen shapes and forms, and this unique pendant lamp is a stunning example.
The shape of the glass shade has a floral inspiration, with a scalloped edge that infuses the overall look with organicity. On this front, the aesthetic is reminiscent of Finnish icons Paavo Tynell and Mauri Almari’s design language that often featured floral elements. The delicate flower shape adds elegance to the overall design, and - in combination with the brass element - the result is an unmistakeable mid-century look. Furthermore, the shade houses a single light bulb which, when lit, creates a beautiful effect through the blue Murano glass. Murano glass is world-renowned for its unparalleled quality and exquisite range of colours, therefore this material choice showcases the true craftsmanship of the designer.
A well-chosen lighting piece can change the overall look of a room and how it feels to inhabit the space. This model is the perfect addition to bring a touch of elegance to any space without it being overwhelming. Its level of craftsmanship and unique character make it a timeless example of the golden age of Italian mid-century lighting design.
