Description
Pair of solid Carrara marble table lamps.
Marked Nessen.
Designed by Elizabeth Kauffer, who worked for Nessen Studios in the 1960"s.
The Nessen website reads:
" Nessen introduced a collection of table lamps designed by Elizabeth Kauffer, featuring bases of the finest Italian marbles – probably the first use of this material for contemporary lamps. Kauffer, originally associated with Gilbert Rhode, later became color coordinator for the Herman Miller Furniture Company."
This pair came with a brass stem, with two sockets for bulbs, each with their own pull. One lamp has brass toggles on the pulls, the other has hard white plastic.
So it seems this pair was married up but the marbles, while featuring different veining, are the same color match..
We just rewired them.
Happy to include the shades, as this pair will need to go by delivery truck. Each lamp is very heavy.
The marble bases are 17 high. -
