Artisan Pair of Rostrato Murano Glass Table Lamps

Description
The Rostrato style, characterized by its unique textures and forms resembling a rostrum or beak, was developed by Ercole Barovier in the late 1930s and remains a popular style to this day. Although synonymous with Barovier and Toso, the Rostrato technique is shared with other glass houses today. This elegant pair of Rostrato lamps in blue and clear Murano glass looks like it could have been made by Barovier himself. The irregular but similar tips of the glass interact with the light in a special way, diffusing it while at the same time allowing indirect light to pass through. The undulating surface of the glass also has the added effect of obscuring the light bulb.
