An Osler Style Cut Glass Six-Arm Chandelier, C. 1900.
-
Description
An elegant Osler-style cut glass chandelier of finely proportioned form, centered by a shaped baluster standard richly decorated with diamond-cut detailing. The standard issues six gracefully scrolled glass arms, each terminating in a candle socket surmounted by finely cut hurricane shades with scalloped rims.
The chandelier is further enriched with cut glass bobeches, pendant drops, and elongated icicles suspended beneath the arms and central canopy, creating exceptional sparkle and depth. The clarity and precision of the glass cutting, combined with the architectural balance of the design, reflect the influence of F. & C. Osler, one of England’s most distinguished late 19th-century glassmakers.
Presented in remarkably fine condition, the chandelier has been professionally rewired and is ready for installation. -
