Description
French Patinated Bronze Lamp Modelled as a Putto
French, c. 1900
Height 61cm, diameter 18cm
Formed as a putto holding a wooden lamp, this Belle Époque piece is as much a work of sculpture as it is a functioning lamp. The putto, crafted from patinated and parcel gilt bronze, stands on a rocky base, his posture naturalistically rendered. He holds a gilt bronze lamp, which is topped by the lighting apparatus. The entire piece is raised on a green circular marble base. -
