Description
Brass Suspension Lamp with Opaline Glass and Painted Metal, 1950s, Manufactured by GCME
A charming lantern featuring a glass cone supported by a brass structure. Thin hooks, in their simplicity, enhance the delicate opaline lampshade, making it appear almost suspended in mid-air. At the top, the lamp is finished with a green painted metal support with a matte finish. The gentle, pleasing color is fully in line with the taste of the 1950s, the era during which this lamp was produced.
The design is by G.C.M.E., an acronym for "Giulio Compagnini Montecatini Elettricità," a manufacturer active in the mid-20th century known for producing lighting fixtures. Many of their models are exemplary of the finest aesthetic research of the 1950s.
The lamp is offered in working condition and retains all its original parts.
