Organically modeled table lamp by Georges Pelletier (b. 1938) for the Poterie d'Accolay, having a fig-like peaked ovoid form in earthenware glazed in sandy tones applied to give a grainy sense of texture below gilded horizontal stripes; France, 1970s; inscribed“Pelletier” near base. (The height of 11 inches cited is for the ceramic base only, not including socket. Overall height with shade approximately 22 inches.)
